Have I lost my Z? One for the ladies.

Power doesn't mean anything. You are in control of the car not the other way round.
Give me your M's I'll look after them

Edited to say, that's a bit unfair, if you're not used to driving a powerful car it may be a bit daunting at first.
I agree Carol a car will only go as fast or slow as you want it to as you control the throttle & I agree sometimes people worry about the power, when I test drove my old TVR Cerbera I was genuinely a little worried of the reputation they had but it was a doddle apart from the heavy clutch. :driving:

I agree Carol... I always get frustrated with the "oh that would kille me" idiots... usefully about my bike mind you. but the same apply is with a car...

I normally reply that the throttle works both ways and it goes as fast as I want it, not the other way about...

I'm concerned that people think the machines rule them...

For sensible, experienced, etc. people of course this is so, but you wouldn't want to let an inexperienced young driver loose in a 300hp car. The insurance is stupidly high for a reason, as they cannot make their brain and the throttle work correctly together, especially if male...

In terms of my wife driving she nor I have any choice. My beautiful Zed or our £50k Jag. Given the Jag is faster than the Zed, way more torque, much bigger and 20" rims, the Zed seems the best for her. Sadly she takes the Jag most times...
She's also an excellent driver and the power makes her safer than the old days of little Fiestas and the like and end of the day they are just cars.

I don't know why most of you are being reluctant to let your better halves drive the Z4, surely they're safer than teenage boy racers. (Though I may have been described as one).

I have a few friends eagerly informing me of when they're turning 25 in a few months, so as they feel they can get their hands on my baby. Not happening particularly since one of them passed his test last year and has collected so many dings on his ancient civic.

OK just curbed my alloy - but wasn't that annoyed as the previous male owner had already dinged that one a few times. I do suspect a female has been in the car previously though as I found some hair grips. To be fair, since I got the car, have only let the boy take the car out twice and one of those was a concession for his 40th.

When my OH drives my car its always funny seeing her reach down to the controls on the side of the seat and then it starts

up,......up......up......up.........up......bit more.....up......up like some magic rising levitation trick

Then forward.........forward.......forward........forward until nose practically on windscreen

Won't always go as fast as you want.

Though I think it goes as fast as Mrs G wants. (For Now)
