I would imagine it would make the car quite heaver with all the mechanics?

Not really something suitable for a sports car.... maybe sallons like the 5 and 7 series perhaps?
 
Nice idea for big limos or chauffeur driven cars but in the real world as said above more weight more things to go wrong and a nightmare in heavy rain when you want to jump out of the car and close the door quickly to keep the interior dry.

How soft is the suspension on those cars when the 4 occupants get out that car lifts so much
 
I really liked that concept.Not sure I'd want to be t-boned by a transit van though. :( Good thinking and engineering from a non automotive company.
 
was that video recorded in the 80s? just going on people hairstyles? You have to question why it hasn't caught on
