Have a laugh at my expense

We are very fortunate I must admit. I've known Jon a long time from diving, Lynn met him the first time I took her about 7 years ago and got very close to his partner Laura. We also have met another good friend through them that Jon worked with in Canada and has a condo in the same building called Lawrence. Lawrence very kindly let us use his condo for two weeks whilst he was back in Canada, we were actually there when Covid hit and flew back into a very quiet Gatwick.
So yes, very lucky. Jon is domiciled in Barbados so we tend to stay with them as Laura makes sure she is in Barbados whenever we go.

How was St Lucia mate?

He went to Grenada

I knew that. Just asking him to look into the future and tell me about St Lucia.
St Lucia is a beautiful Island, got married there 28 years ago.
Marigot Bay is very scenic place but not a lot to do. The North of the Island around Pidgeon Point / Rodney Bay get the most sunshine. Anse Chastenet is the most photographed with the Pitons and is the place in every holiday brochure. Several hotels there but tend to be expensive.

One on my bucket list is Jade Mountain. Worth a look and a drool, especially the suites with only 3 walls and an infinity pool at the end of your bed. https://www.jademountain.com/

Diving is fairly good but not up to the likes of the far east or the Red Sea

I can vouch for that purely based on my snorkelling experience at Hurghada, Kalawy and Marsa Alam.
Vall did a live-aboard in April, wrecks & reefs. Plenty of hammerheads too.

Perhaps a write up on Grenada please?

It's a special birthday for me and my wife over New Year 2023/24 and looking to go back to the Caribbean as we haven't been for a while.

Anyone done the four masted clipper ships experience. Never done a cruise but think that would be quite special linked with a week on an island over New Year

Happy Birthday Martin, and I hope your nose isn't too painful.

We did two weeks in Sandals, La Source. People say it's two expensive, but we go as the diving is included. Vall did 22 dives which elsewhere, with it hire etc, would have been around £2.5k. (She paid £120 per dive in St Lucia). Plus their all-inclusive has proper named brand drinks and excellent food.
The people in Grenada must be amongst the friendliest on the planet!
We did a couple of tours, up into the rain forest, swimming under waterfalls, tubing down the river etc.
Already booked my 60th there in two years time! My favourite place.

My first wife walked slap bang into the patio door in our new house on the first weekend we were there, I nearly pissed myself despite the fact that she was obviously shaken and shocked.

In the doghouse for several hours after.

A ten dive package in Barbados is $599.
£120 a go is ripping the piss.
If that is all kit provided too then best I keep that quiet :?
Appears I was a bit out.
The price quoted was for 2 dives per trip out.

That's better lol. I've got all my own kit, so pay a bit less. Only thing I need is a tank. Regs, computer and camera I travel with, the rest my mate keeps in storage for me in Barbados.

She walked into the door, then into the doghouse? :o

Just to chime in on the diving front, I would recommend Tobago for it. Tons of life and relatively untouched. Less commercialised than other islands of that's you're thing. The snorkeling was good too. Get Hammerheads off the North of the island and need to go back to see them.
