Hate poor service

So today I called into wheelbase while I was in the area (Manchester). Pulled up and parked in front of what looked liked a fitting bay (in use) with quite a few people standing round.

Walked into the "showroom" browsed for a good 20 mins, without seeing one person. I left disappointed and without a word said to me.

I would hate to see what there after sales service is like if today's experience was anything to go by.

Did I get them on an off day or is this standard practice?

Did you not attempt to get anyone's attention? I mean I hate pushy salesmen and its annoying when you're not attended to but surely you'd just ask someone if you wanted something?

I was really only looking for some options but literally no one was around in the showroom.

I guess I just got frustrated waiting, at the end of the day no shortage of places to get alloy wheels. And I would rather use a place that gives good service.

i'm 50:50 on this one

if you asked they would have helped you, if you went in to just browse and they were pestering you then you'd not like that either

I hate waiting too, but I also hate being harassed! On-line shopping is best for me

Andi.

I went to the desk, looked around, did the old loud cough. I just expected "how can I help you".

I hate pushy sales but lack of service is just as bad.

Like you say.. plenty of other places. Have you tried Sheldons in Salford. I use them a lot and they're really good.

I've walked out of shops before now, sometimes to go home and ring the manager! sometimes to never go back.

I went into the local Kia dealer last week with my colleague as he's looking at lease cars. There were 2 sales desks and an office. Customers at both of the sales people, fair enough. We looked around, then sat down and had a coffee.

Someone in the office, then another "suit" walked into the office. At one point, one of the sales people had to get something, so she left her desk, walked past us and then back again.

No one even acknowledged us. I appreciate they had customers, but could of at least acknowledged us.

So we finished the coffee and walked out. Found I was blocked in, so went back in and went to the office. Had to interrupt them talking to get attention, despite them seeing me.

s**t customer (well, potential customer) service.

I have been to Wheelbase loads of times..

They are usually understaffed but i have never left feeling disappointed...That said,i have always called first to see if they had what i was looking for.

They have always done me a great deal too..

Agree, not good enough.

You should've been approached and greeted and asked if you needed any help.

That's not pushy sales but good customer service.

Maybe it was a one off, however there was only one car in the fitting bay and me so hardly rushed of there feet.

I was just passing to called in, it would of been an impulse buy on my part if the deal was right.

Oh well more cash in the bank :)

Yep....

Daft for them to not even ask..

Hotline wheels on levenshulme road always have a decent stock in if your over that way again..

Dave sheldons has been going a long time, but my friend had a real bad experience with them, I shan't buy off them .

I'd be interested to know what that experience was? PM me if you'd rather not disclose it on the forum...

It was a set of rep E60 M5 wheels that he had bought off them with tyres at the its if £1300

One of the tyres kept slowly going down.. He returned and the took off the tyre and resealed.. Stil went down..

Cut a long story short, after many trips he took the wheel to another wheel specialist who immedietly saw the casting was porous and a tiny amount of air was leaking on the inner dish .

He then went back and shown the problem to DS. They tried all kinds of tricks to avoid even giving him a replacement wheel... In the end they did refund him,but he Had a battle to sort it:(

Shame...
