Hatch/Tailgate Glass

As per title, I'm looking for the hatch / tailgate glass for an e86 Z4 coupe. Unfortunately, mine is smashed, and it appears to be a dealer part only?

My car has sun protection glass. I'm base in South of the UK.

Any advice would be appreciated.
 
They are bonded in so you are unlikely just to find the glass. Your best bet would be to buy a whole bootlid.

What did bmw quote for glass?
and can’t you just use the glass cover on your insurance and just pay the excess?

Cheap damaged bootlid on eBay but the glass is good

J3nks79, thanks for the reply. The car was bought as a project with the glass smashed.. so I not able to go through the insurance.

BMW have quoted over 500 for the glass. I thought I'd ask here, incase anyone had removed the glass from their tailgate for a race car build, before ordering one.

I have just the glass and I also have with the tailgate in Montego Blue . The only thing with the glass is the heating connectors are missing . You will also need to get a new seal unless the one in your tailgate is ok . The glass in the tailgate has a few light scratches in it but are not noticeable when driving and the heating works but don`t really want to remove from tailgate .
