I'm due to pick up a E86 tomorrow morning and just realised the car only did around 2 and a half thousand for 3 years. Would this set alarm bells for anyone else?

I wouldn't worry. Plenty of people have these as weekend toys. The NMR would throw up any issues

Not at all mine only covered around 2k last year due to 2 cancelled trips and a broken fuel pump resulting in another long trip cancelled and as said above is a weekend toy

Not out of the ordinary. Mine did under 200 miles the year before I got it and around 1500 a year for a few years previously.

i did that in 3 days in my Z4MC

Look at the owner and see how he treats the car.

Our main car has only covered 100 miles /week for ages and would also look a bit iffy if i was to sell it - However its treated with the greatest of respect and would be a good buy if i was to sell .
Likewise the Z4 is in the garage over winter with a maintenance battery charger and covered in a cotton sheet. It doesn't come out of hibernation until all the salt is washed away from the roads.

Again, the recorded miles would make me ask the question!

Mine hasn't been down from the hook it's on since 2014.

Don"t panic. It was my son who was using it for a time untill he move out. He bought some shiny strong modern wheels for it too.

I can't remember the last time I rode it.

Always check the odometer reading in the dash for a dot by the mileage display, if its been messed with the dot is generated by the dme and indicates its been tampered with and mileage is not matching between the modules that store this information, they cross check themselves, a mismatch will display the dot.
