Can you imagine the grief I got working at an establishment in Glasgow? (Happy days )

Was it just banter though? We do have a strange sense of humour sometimes.
For instance Scotland must be the only place where calling someone a C**T is a term of endearment. :lol:

There are noticeable regional differences though.

While I was with Mrs Tidy (a Scouser) I learnt that calling someone a c**t up there is far less offensive than calling them a tw*t, but down in the South East it's the other way around. :?

Probably best to be careful if you don't have an interpreter!

Oh it was banter - if we weren’t greeted by “och its you f’ing English bastards” something was wrong - great bunch of guys!

I don’t think anyone here is a supporter of racism & would argue that today’s actions were the result of some nasty yobs, not reflecting English patriotism at all Imho.
I’d like to see the force of law come down heavy on them as well as the idiots vandalising our statues in recent days, it’s not helpful.

Sadly just as English as the BLM protests we saw in the UK last week - resent events and media coverage have polarised the argument which sadly just prompts a knee jerk from middle England who stop listening.

I'm middle-aged, white and a complete and utter English patriot.
I spent 23 years of my life serving my country so that these ignoramuses have the freedom to desecrate whatever takes their eye during their senseless rampages.
Please note, I am fully in support of people having the right to peaceful protest.
However, I am wondering why I bothered now.
Yes, I do resent every single one of the mindless morons who are nothing better than vandals, regardless of their skin shade or ethnicity. But this does not, in any shape of form, make me a racist.
