Has my window motor given up?

Hiya,

Went for a drive yesterday and started to hear noises when I I tried lowering my driver side window (like a squealing sound). Thought it might just be my window going down past a dry insulating rubber so wasn't too fussed. However when I parked up and tried to raise it again it stopped about 3" from the top and wouldn't go any further. I tried moving it up and down slowly to get it back to the top but it eventually just stopped moving full stop. So that I could leave the car I had to open the door and gently pull the window upwards whilst pressing close. I'm assuming the motor has gone, is this something that I could look into fixing myself or should I take it to the Pros who have the tools? If so any ideas on what it might cost to fix?

Is this a normal thing to go on a Zed?

Many Thanks

Have a search for window regulator - might be that as oppose a motor. Seems a common problem.

Mine went recently - cost £115 for the part from Sopers - fitted myself.

Sounds more like the window regulator. Probably just needs grease? Remove the door casing and take a look.

Almost 100% sure It's the regulator. First time it'll take 2 hours ish to replace. Plenty of info on here and get yourself a TIS as well.
