Has anyone tried painting interior?

I think that the tan interior on the Z4 is way too much tan. I wish they went two tone with black on it like they did with dream red or the brown

I'm afraid to try, but part of me really wants to put more black in the inside. I know a lot of E36 people paint their interiors black, but has anyone done it to the Z4? Mostly the textured stuff on the doors (not the leather).

Would I be able to swap in the tan leather piece?

I would have thought it would be much easier than trying to paint them (will look terrible)

Real OEM seems to suggest it's one part, but I am sure the leather panel could be detached. All the door furniture can be

I would definitely buy black bits rather than trying to paint. I wanted this Black Sapphire with Sepang leather but couldn't find a Z4M in that combo at the time. It looks perfect....like this but without the silver dash (i'd want the carbon leather)

I never even thought about that as an option, but you are right, it would be easier. I think the leather HAS to come off, because there is an airbag there. It will destroy the leather if deployed and would have to be replaced.

Wow, that interior is so much nicer than mine. BMW, why didn't you do this for tan!?

The door cards and trim are quite difficult to split down, have a read of this thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=47403#p47403

Personally i think the tan interior looks great as is would not want to fit any of the black plastics but what i would do is go for the piano black trim parts or with your cars body colour i would may be colour code some parts to mach the exterior.

 :o Flat, Satin, or Latex :poke:  :fuelfire:  Sorry I couldn't help it. :P Seriously I think the tan interior looks fine.
