Has anyone gone Z4MR to Z4MC ?

Seconded regarding the TVR thing, I had Tamora and it went like a stabbed rat in a straight line, but it couldn't be driven at 10 th's like Z4mc, plus the thing was poorly designed and built. It looked and sounded amazing. I keeping thinking I'll buy another, but every time I drive one I realise what a piece of shite they are.
Also Z4MC to Cayman is a bad idea, I went for cayman S to Z4mc. The Z4 was much more fun and just as quick when I learnt to drive it properly, after being nannied by the Cayman for 12 months.
Id have another Z4mc, still look every couple of weeks, but wouldn't have Cayman, although I would like to try a hot version, just to see if it's really much better or that different.
 
I would love an S54 Z3MC....

I had my S50 and really shouldnt have sold it,but was hankering for a change...

supercharger fitted in a E85 article in this months total BMW mag , approx £6k for the job done ? a good read :thumbsup:

I'd seen that and it looks good. In fact, when I read the advert I thought of yours due to the engine change. Unfortunately, any major purchases are on hold at the moment as there's a high chance I'll be working abroad from January. All bets are off if I don't go though :wink:

Looks beautiful, but I actually prefer the OEM wheels to CSLs (or almost any other) on the Z3MC.

Insurance is the big issue with forced induction. I spent a long time looking into it when Beedub fitted his and again a year or so ago. Living in London, no one would cover me :thumbsdown:
 
Enjoyed reading this thread. It seems to me that it is indeed the MC that causes controversy in the press, whist the MR is far more excepted. I've never understood this, as the two cars are so similar. I can only think that your average Journo doesn't really understand the MC, where the MR is a little more main stream and simple to understand. Just my two peneth.

3rded. I swapped a 450 Chimaera for the MC a month ago. Surprisingly, I don't miss it at all. Yes it sounded epic with a sleeved exhaust, but in the real world on real roads was nowhere near as quick as the MC (straight line similar, but in the twisties the Zed would leave it for dust). And in the wet, well, forget it - the TVR wouldn't see which way the MC went. The build quality was, honestly, crap - laughably crap. It was very expensive to service, and in the end just pissed me off. The Zed is also like a limo in comparison - it's got PAS ffs! :D

In 2008 I had a Cayman S - and then in 2009 swapped it for an 07 XKR. I love Porsches but the Cayman was actually quite dull. The Jag was soft, but very fast and fab in many respects - but painfully expensive to run :) The Zed is a good compromise - (relatively) raw, very fast, great noise, rare, well built, stylish, and never dull.
 
Z4M roadster vs Z4M coupe. It's common knowledge that the Z4M Coupe looks better then the Roadster and that the Coupe is more exclusive then the roadster... I own a Roadster and IMO the Coupe does look better, but when driving with the top down the Roadster is more fun for me. If I bought a Z4M coupe then I had a small unpractical sports car, if I bought the roadster then I also had a small unpractical sports car but with extra added value of also having a convertible. If you don't like driving a convertible or are so in love with the looks of the coupé. Buy one!

I do love the looks of the coupe & but having a convertible adds a new dimension to the driving experience, I will stick with roof down motoring! :thumbsup:
