Hartside run

Weather promising so rang a mate (SLK 350 V6) and we arranged to meet and take the run up to Hartside. It's a great road, passes Alston and surprisingly wasn't too busy today. 2013's National meet took Forumites up there for it's final day's run and all were blown away by the route. The regular speed van was on location (after Alston on a long straight) always something to keep in mind.

Hartside is ace, I would recommend towards Hawes direction, brilliant blast Tan Hill etc probably could do it en route from Newcs to Alston?
 
Yes andysat - I've had a drive of the SLK but not at pace - it has 7 gears auto with paddles and manual 'tiptronic' as a result it get's a shift on. It also sounds epic when wound up. My mate's a very good driver and it always impresses me.

Yes Alistair, there's some very nice roads out and to Alston - we are so lucky living in Newcastle..

Nice motors.

I do like the interior on the SLKs I don't think it's got much on the Z look wise though. The Z doesn't look as dated imo

Your right about the road to hartside. I do it regularly on my bike. It would be a good place for a z4 meet.
 
Yep - we are ex bikers too and it's terrific.

There seems to be quite a few forum members in the North East - I'm off on the first forum Scotland run in a couple of weeks time - after that perhaps it's time for a NE run including the Hartside.

sounds like a plan :) think we did that once before in freezing fog, and it was still a good run
