Harsh ride.

Any decent tyre the choice is endless,Just not run flats
Michelin ps4 seems to be popular but their is many mid range out there that will do a more than adequate job depending on you needs .

2011 23i.Love the car apart from very harsh drive suspect run flats need changing.Recomendations please.
If you've got big wheels (19s) it compounds the issue too. I have Michelin PS4s on another car (still on RFTs on the Z4 :x ) and they are awesome tyres but not cheap. Plenty of tyre comparison sites out there give lots of information.

Thanks for replies.Running 18 inch wheels and think I will go for Michelin PS4.

EDIT: just spotted 18’s, think it’s a Β£75 cash back on,...those can’t remember

Google β€˜Michelin spring offer’ as it’s only through certain tyre places

The word 'adequate' never goes alongside tyres my friend. Buy the best you can afford, it four tiny poatches of rubber keeping you alive at the end of the day.... PS4S every time if you can budgert that, they last forever, great tyre.

Imagine you've already taken the plunge but if not...

I love my E89 but ride quality was my biggest issue with it. Like posters above I recently switched out all four corners for Michelin PS4S, fitted for around Β£600 (don't think I got a great deal, but still)

Ride is much improved. It's not night and day, but it's better and definitely removes the bone-shattering harshness of big bumps. My girlfriend thinks it's noticably better, too. Worth it 100%.

Tempurpedic. A thick Tempurpedic pillow between your bum and the seat will make the ride like driving on cotton.

You can now get GY asym. as runflats, but not sure how they ride.
When you see run flat tyre side wall is about 3/8 inch thick and normal tyre about 1/8 you know they going to handle different..

I had a Michelin pilot blowout on me around 30 years ago (I was more reckless then) and always wary of them.

Using GY at the moment loads better than those god awful Bridgestones (I had one of those come off the rim once too)

Very interesting but you can scroll to the end for the results......

I made the swap from run flats to non-run flats at the same time I upgraded my wheels from 18” to 19”. I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 5s and the difference it made to handling and ride comfort was staggering. I highly recommend them as a lower cost alternative to PS4S.

Only watching that video last night.
On 3's at moment, 5's next or 6?, they seem to be lasting well at moment.
