It's the 2 units next door to my unit.
I use their frontage to dry and detail the zed and other cars after using the car wash down the road on the weekend.
Wouldnt dream of sullying my own well-kept frontage!
One of those guys supplies chiller cabinets to takeaways and deli's and drives a very nice Bentley convertible.
I'm definitely in the wrong business.

Yes, going to strip the Zed to her birthday suit and show her some Harley Love! Will send pics post bath...............

Mine was registered in Jan-12, not the he age that the plate suggests. Mrs Sarah R bought me, Rick M R the plate - SR to RMR :)

Oh right, it's quite a lot newer then (almost 10 years!). I knew it was a R56 hence my wink! :)
 
I am having doubts about how long Harly Wax lasts for. I did the Mini 3 weeks' ago and the Discovery last week. I washed them both today. The Discovery beeded very well, but not the Mini.

Time will tell, but the longevity could be the trade-off for the ease of application?

Any other comments on this aspect of Harly Wax?
 
You're right it doesn't have any longevity... I think you get a nice result with it but in all honesty its not really any better than my trusty collinite 476s and that stuff sticks around for 6 months at the very least but a lot more effort getting it applied
 
Agreed. I’m a month in on mine and not much of a trace. There had to be a downside for something that is so easy to apply and remove.

Oh Man.... I bought a tin of this a couple of weeks back, based on this first post... Didn't know it had gone viral!!! I just popped back to say thanks and post a pic or 2... Anyways... It's done a super job on 2 of my cars now!

Agree on the longevity of this stuff, beading is noticeably reduced after a few weeks. I'm also convinced it remains as sticky as when it first goes on, I've never had so much pollen and dust sticking to my car (although this could just be the very unusually long warm period we've had).

Im going to use Collinite next time to give it some decent protection but think will probably still give it a coat of the Harly wax from time to time to give it some shine between "proper" waxes.
 
I think its best to think of the Harley almost as a quick detailer wax. It goes on and off almost as quick as a quick detailer spray and seems to last about the same. Have I just invented a new genre?
 
If you want to use make the wax/bead last longer then use this between waxes.

yes +1 been using megs quik mist&wipe detailer after I first applied Harley 5 cleans and a quick spray and still beading but will be applied again soon I think to keep it tip top as it’s really not a big issue to apply again still very happy with it :thumbsup:

I also use Megs QD (but not over Harly wax, I've been using Meg's Ultimate Fast Finish wax, great stuff IMHO) and it does seem to help lock in the finish for longer, so would also recommend it.

my views remain as i said earlier in the thread, its great as an easy to apply wax and has great results... in the short term. The wax is too soft in my view so doesn't provide the same protection as wax like Collinite.

A decent wax like Collinite and then topped up periodically (and easily) with Harley wax and I think it works a treat.
 
Yep, I agree. Its easily the most easy to apply and remove out at of all my lsp's. Love the fact that you can get it on plastics with no ill effects (in fact it enhances them subtly) but it has no staying power. Couple of days of rain and it's pretty much gone.

I really do equate it to a quick detailer wax!
 
So, I was reading/watching a bit on the chemical science of waxs/sealants....and apparently, they say that it is pointless applying more than one coat of wax, because the application of an additional coat literally removes the first coat.

Is this correct?
