Harley Davidson?

All nice bikes. I agree with Wondermike. If you want a nice looking bike with a big sound to cruise around on, the harleys are the way to go. The sport bikes serve another purpose. I reaqlly don't undersatand how they're being compared with the Harley though. It's like comparing a Z4 to a minivan.

Your right, the BMW bike I posted is so new you can't buy one yet, it was more in reply to the statement of no BMW's than a real alternative to the Harley, but just think of the cars if they could match the same sort of performance figures, I know the similarity of the engines disappears beyond the fact they are both 4 strokes.
I do feel there are much better bikes than Harley's which seem to sell more on image than on quality or engineering with the possible exception of the newish V-Rods, after all the first thing most owners do is go straight to Screaming Eagle to get the bike to do what it should have done in the first place.

If I wasn't so terrified of motorcycles, the BMW would be my choice. i love the sound they make.

Thanks for the comments. Ah, Harley :sweetheart:

Mike,
You need to get this mid life crisis sorted out in your mind...lol
I shouldn't quite be old enough for a midlife crisis, I think I must be starting it early-ish :D

I hear you Mike. That Harley looks sweet. I've had a couple of Ducatis but gave up riding a few years ago when my wife told me to! A good friend of mine here in Glasgow owns West Coast Harley so if you are seriously considering it, i can see what deal he can do for you. I say do it, Harleys are lovely generally and although the hardcore biker brigade don't like them, they're plenty fast in real life where a 0-60 of 3 seconds on 2 wheels is just stupid.
Thanks, if I take it to the next level I will let you know

TBH it's the sound more than anything, and the looks are really stealthy with the blacked-out effect. £6k for one of these. Not interested in the sports bikes or Japanese bikes, the Triumph above looks nice too, but does it sound as good?

I know what you need!!!!! The current issue of Roundel has an Isetta that some guy dropped a BMW motorcycle engine into and chopped the roof to make it a convertible. I like! :)

I'm on my 3rd mid-life crisis now! :P

That's why I like the bike I have now. Always been a sports bike type. Had an R1, Fireblade ect but the one I have now I will probably keep. It has the sound of a V-Twin (1700cc!!) but the chassis of a sports bike!

B****R that means my mid life crisis started when I was 17 and still hasn't finished, had various Kawasaki's, a Ducati, Suzuki and a Honda now on the R1, still the test was sooooooooooooooooo easy in those days with Examiner on foot and all you had to do was ride round the block 3 times without falling off.

Tried to find a decent sound bite of the Speed Triple but could only find them being revved at at a standsill, doesn't do them justice.

This is what mine sounds like (this isn't me!) as I have the same pipes on. 8)
