Hi everybody,

just thought I share this with you, have been looking for a hardtop for a while and in the process found out that you can get a brand new hardtop from BMW, in some colours for a reasonable price. The same sort of region people have been paying on ebay!

they might not be in the right colour for your car but as we all know they can easily be resprayed to match your car.

as I have done the legwork for this, if anybody is looking to buy one and need more info, contact me via pm and I can let you know :)
 
Even if you have to respray thats not bad - not bad at all

As you say, especially when we do see (sterling grey and black tops) go for £950+

exactly my point that's why I mentioned it here.

remembering the point that at least you get a brand new hardtop which like any other part from the dealer, comes with 2 years warranty!

maybe yes maybe not, but that's not why I shared the info.

I prefer to buy a new one rather than 2nd hand, no matter how good it has been looked after if the price difference isn't much.

just what have to say about this is, there are limited number on stock (mostly from Germany), so if you want one, there would be a week or 2 wait till delivery!
 
This thread is a great piece of info though Navid! I'm not in the market for a hardtop yet as I'm being rationed by other half on what I spend on my car, but out of interest, what colours did BMW say were available?

There's a Saphire black one on eBay (posted on here I think) for £950, so this is a good price. However I too am currently being rationed - just got a clear third brake light from TZ4 on here, and it has been stolen to be re-presented - haha - at Christmas :cry:
 
I have seen them 2 black ones on ebay, they have been on for months!

Wow I've tried finding them on ebay and even doing a google search with very few results and none at all on ebay. The 2 i found were 4 grand US and one of them was used.

Droz4 - the top one is the one I was talking about... Wonder if they drove it mis-matched as some sort of statement :?

... Unfortunately the few on here are all in the UK, so by the time you add shipping $4k would be about right...
 
There were quite a few at a German dealer where I got the spare Monitor from, 1000 Euro to be precise.

She's not found the carbon badges yet, but I can't figure out how to get them on the car without getting caught :ninja:
 
They would not ship abroad last time I looked, I had to use a contact to get it from Germany to NL where I collected it.

That's correct they won't ship but if you do organise courier yourself, they have no issue with that.
