Paul

Have to admit Paul it looks good in red, especially from the rear.

. . . and from the front/side :o (markeg)

i think roadsters with hardtops on look great, i cant wait to get a hardtop in white on mine over the winter :D

obviously after enjoying roof down summer (if it ever gets warm again!!)

I've wondered this too as in the three years I've had the Z4 the hardtop has only been moved from living room, to spare room, to new garage and that's it. Its been more of a hindrance than a useful piece of kit.

The preventing "green slime" might be a bonus however, especially now the car is forced to park beneath some tree's.

And driving past Ranski's car on a frequent basis on some of 2015's hottest days, I am yet to see the hardtop off yet.

Sell it to me, I'm looking for a Silver Grey one

I'm after some winter protection and reduction in motorway journey noise.

I'll have to transfer the hoist I bought for my old one and work out a better cradle system so I can remove the roof on my own.

Paul, no problem....opinions are like assholes after all ;)

Indeed I did sell my M coupé after a mere 2 years of ownership....

At the end if the day we all have different tastes and when looking for a z4 roadster and driving a few I did try a coupe for comparison and being totally honest again I can say the coupe felt better to drive more connected to the road less road noise in the cabin and overall a lovely ride but ideally not keen on the looks and I wanted a roadster as I already own a coupe

My MK 1 TT and if I'm totally honest again the z4 coupe felt better than my TT :driving:

I think the hardtop suits colours better than others but as you can see from previous pics it defiantly suits a RED Z4

I think the hard top looks good on the roadster and will try to get one. I already have one tin top toy and another in my garage, but that one's a long term project.

Here's the other usable one

You should pop in and baby sit our 7 week old baby, i might have a chance to go out for a roof down hoon

If you'd played with the tools in the garage, rather than in the bedroom, you wouldn't have that issue !

I would agree with that, well at 4 in the morning when he refuses to sleep :|

Actual baby or reference to a new car? ha

I ask that same question myself. My brother-in-law has a hard top for his Jeep. He has this elaborate rope-and-pulley system in his garage to lift the top and store it. It seems like more problem than it's worth, and it cuts down on the ability to be spontaneous. However, in defense of the hard top, I see how the constant sun and weather exposure to the soft tops does wear them out faster.
