There is a hardtop for sale on ebay where the seller says ''These occasionally need adjustment to prevent wind noise or bodywork damage. This is easy to do and I will help the purchaser to ensure the correct fit should it be required''

Can anyone tell me if this is right? I'm a bit concerned as he only bought it a month ago himself from ebay.

They do need adjustment to fit the car, there are 2 nuts on each side that can be moved up and down to get the correct fit...

It takes a while but you can get zero wind noise, the main bit comes from the front corners not sitting flush with the windscreen so if you get those right it's fine.

Yes they do need adjustment to get a perfect fit and as koolchris99 says it's via 2 adjusters on the rear corners.

That said some still do whistle from the top corners regardless of adjustment and that's usually due to a deteriorated or compressed screen surround rubber allowing air in the outer seal but not the inner. Cost £150 to replace that.

Frankly I wuld not worry about it an unless the roof is somehow bent or damaged. Get it if the price and colour are what you want. Find out why the rapid sale - car sold, damanged top, making a quick profit?

Check out the installation manual, which includes the adjustment procedures.

Just fitted a hardtop - fit's fine but there's a small (approx 1mm) gap one side at the front which makes a lot of wind noise. how do you adjust the front part?

There was a twisted one doing the rounds a while ago on ebay- insect any potential purchase carefully.
