Hardtop question

I’ve made a bit of an impulse purchase of a hardtop.

The seller has said there are a couple of covers missing , does that matter?

Will I be able to just rock up in my Z and plant it straight on or do I need any accessories/tools?

He must mean side covers there’s also one above your head for manual operation. The 2 side covers cover the locking mechanism that holds the roof secure they are hard to get if they are missing good look finding some. I think there is a post on here someone 3D printing them but there not cheap good look

Yes I’ve heard they are difficult to get.

Am I right in assuming they are not required for installation and weather tightness ?

Yes ,it just drops on after you have removed the two plastic covers that are just behind the door pillars.You need the Allen key tool to lock it on.

Sorry another question. Do the 2 plastic covers just prise off with a flat screwdriver ?

Yes, they pop off easily. They should just come up with a good pull.
