Hardtop issues

Picked up my hardtop last week looks the business but I have noticed wind noise from the front two corners plus I am not too convinced both sides of the hardtop are sitting right on the body. Local Indy told be to get lost due to the hassle, had car in main dealer today who charged me £60 to tell me what I already knew. They wanted around £400 plus to explore the problem further. :( so I just took my car home  Any advice would be great or even better if anyone in the Merseyside area with a hardtop who could help and not at £400 ago  Will try and post some pics tomorrow!

If it was me I would take it off and start again
I would also put rubber sealer (eg gummi pfeze or however you spell it) where it meets the screen and at the back on the rubber under the window
The latches do not need much of a turn to lock them
Make sure your hood is bone dry before it goes away for the winter - obvious I know
Good luck

Cheers appreciate the advice, Ive checked out a few threads the last hour and read about a adjustment guide, member cj10jeeper has one might be cheeky and ask for a copy  There are adjusters right below the locks just not to sure how to adjust and dont want to balls it!

all your problems relate to adjustment of the top, assuming you locked it down correctly at the 3 points.

PM me an email and this evening I'll send you out a PDF on adjustment and another guide.

Cheers cj10jeeper have pm'd you mate thanks again, here is a picture of the lock adjusters for the rest of you guys! once again any advice is appreciated :headbang:

Just wanted to say cheers cj10jeeper, that adjuster doc worked a treat used a 24mm spanner on the top nut and a 22 mm spanner on the lower then locked up the top and then job done. I feel like calling at the main dealers to say what/why was it going to take 4 plus labour hours @ around £400! If they just told people the truth and did'nt always attempt to rip people off they may get more business! Anyway Forum Power

Glad you got it sorted. Not difficult to do nor even very time consuming, so no reason why BMW should quote £400 to do it

When I first put my hardtop on it took a lttle bit of faffing around with the adjustment nuts on the mounting pillars. There are two adjustments - up-down and lateral movement. with the up - down adjustment the trick is to get it as tight as you can without getting the knock from the back of the hardtop ( about a gap of 1cm all round the back of the outside where the top meets the body), and the whistle at the front. The lateral adjustment stops wind whistle in the corners. I downloaded an extract from a BMW instruction manual from this site gave full details - cant remember anything else about whwre it was now though
