Hardtop Group Buy - Take 2

Hi

I posted a little while ago about a possible group buy of hardtops,

Well so far there is only really two of us interested, but I have the price down to £1483.76 each including VAT (20% off list), and thats for just buying two!! this is from a London BMW dealer,

I did ask, if I could up the numbers what would they be looking at, and quite rightly, they want something more positive,

I have bid on a couple on ebay, but finding the right colour and condition (my idea of mint condition, is not always the same as what the seller calls mint :cry: ) then if I get a different colour and get it sprayed, I am not far off this price I have been given for a new one

So is anyone else interested?

With enough genuine interest (and numbers),I would try and get him down to at least 25% off list, but as you can all appreciate I need something fairly concrete to work with, as someone in business I am constantly getting customers say to me if I order 25 how much? then the order comes through for 2 !! and they are politely told to "go forth and multiply".

I have phoned loads of dealers and agents and 10% is the best anyone would give me, bear in mind they are something like £1850 ish list.

The figure stated above is a done deal on just two of them,

The other thing to bear in mind, is that at the moment I am led to believe that all OEM colours are available, when they are gone they will only be available in a primed finish.

My thoughts are at the moment that if we get the deal with numbers, I will supply him with a list of names of the people ordering at that price, and some sort of reference,I would give you their contact details, so you will be liable to pay them directly yourself, I would assume he will want to order them all in one go, so bear that in mind, and just to reiterate it is a franchised BMW dealer.

I think RustyZ4 has done a bit of work looking into this Hardtop business.
I have all but given up on finding one on ebay so im all for a group buy and it could make a few a little sick to think they have paid £1000+ on ebay or more if they got them resprayed :cry:

Great effort RustyZ4, sounds like you have done a lot of work on this, hopefully if we can get the right numbers, we can negotiate a great price :)

Sooo tempted.

£1500 still seems like a lot to justify when it's 30 degrees outside, but I've never seen an Imola red hardtop, so would be pretty rare.

I am still pretty active on this and still phoning around to see what deals I can get,, unfortunatly work has become very busy, so that is taking up quite a bit of my time :thumbsdown: but I will definatly be getting one, with the sun shining I guess we can hold on a little for the deal :thumbsup:

OK, just to bring you up to date. after speaking to numerous dealers and indies, i am just awaiting an email confirmation, of what I think is the best deal we are going to get, for brand new warrantied hardtops, I will then post it as a new thread.
