Hardtop Defroster Wiring

I successfully installed my hardtop on a 2007 Z and though everything fit perfectly, I have two wires (with a connector on the end of each) hanging down (from the top) next to the rear mounting points (one on each side). How do these wires play into the defroster system. From a previous post, I was under the impression that the electrical connections were made through the mounting studs. If these wires are not connected, I assume that the only down side will be that I don't have the defroster working on the hardtop. If anyone has further information about these celectrical onnectors, I would appreciate it. Many thanks in advance.

The connectors should be fitted to spade terminals on the posts on the hardtop, thus completing the circuit. The connectors are behind plastic covers close to the bottom of the adjusting mechanism.

I'm not sure if the circuit just does the heating. It may also be the trigger to deactivate the hood motor and circuit, but that's a guess.

The instructions are not clear but I was able to see what you are describing in a small sub-drawing...thanks so much for leading me in the right direction.
