Hardtop controller failed no roof and no boot open

Hi All

Got this error message Hardtop controller failure

Hardtop lights on switches do not work
Boot will not open with key or with the latch on the boot

Any advice appreciated

Few just been back to the car and it seems to have reset itself no error warning, roof and boot now working

Couple of things check battery age and check for any water rear right of boot under trim.

Microswitches can be intermittent. Plenty of knowledge on here and not too expensive if just a switch(es) replacement.

You might find the fault kicks in again, but see how it goes.

Arghhhh, this had happened again today .....

Any way to trigger the boot release with ISTA D on INPA?

Remote trigger - not that I have seen TBH.

Did you check your battery? Last changed date & milage are recorded in your ECU.

So just checked and ista d cannot connect to roof module and boot lock is not opening with boot partially open



How can I get the boot open if I cannot access the roof module?

Ok so used the FRM pin 12 and blue fuse which worked a treat.opened the boot

Wires checked and all now working

I have a smart roof module which has stopped working and I had removed the wiring but not put the original back into the correct pin

Hi birdy_z4. What kind of smart roof module have you used? I have cabrio-module.de and now it stopped working too. And worked the trick with "pin 12" to open the boot? Thanks and have fine day!
