Hardtop collection / measurements

I’ve started keeping my ear to the ground for an E85 hardtop. Anyone able to help with measurements so I can see if it would fit in the back of our Qashqai?

It would have to go in side ways so it’s the length front to back I suspect is the important measure.

I’m happy to travel but I don’t want to clock the miles on the Zed doing long distance.

I don't think it will fit as this site suggests the length as 1.83m. I think you will also have a problem with the height.

I contemplated collecting mine in my girlfriends qashqai but in the end just took my Z4. It literally just lifts on and tightens in 3 locations. 2min job for 2 people.

The guys in the above thread rather quickly conclude Google must be wrong (also in view of the whopping weight of about 132 kg Google estimates) and - though I do not know this leads to significant differences - the thread is actually about a Z3 hardtop.

I recently did a very rough measurement on mine - exactly for the same purposes (determining whether it will fit an XC60) - and got to 1.30ish (L) x 1.45ish (W) x 0.50ish (H). Have not measured the XC60 yet, so outcome still unknown.

Thanks MKZ4000. It’ll get nowhere near. The QQ opening dimensions are around 1x1M2
Some very wishful thinking on my part.

I’ll have to pull out the roof rack or hope for something up North. Thankfully I think we’re getting the annual quota of rain today so it’ll be dry from now 🤔

If it helps

I went to pick one up when I bought my most recent z

The hardtop wouldn’t fit into the opening of my F31 3 series touring!

As described above, I picked my one up with my Z4.
It's as if it was made for it
Is there a reason you can't collect it and fit it straight onto the car, it really is so easy to fit and (as long as it's locked) it can't get damaged in transit

As others have stated, it wont fit.
I have one spare as ive part-exed the Z4. Drops on the car in seconds.

Drive your Qashqai to nearest dealer who has a Z4 for sale. Impress him with your knowledge of Z4s. Take car on a test drive to pick up hardtop. Drive back home and transplant hardtop onto your Z4. Drive back to dealer and pick up your Qashqai.
