Picking up a hardtop for my z tomorrow, its about a two hour drive from me, the guy i'm buying it off is going to help me fit it on so I was wondering if its raining will it damage the softop if retracted wet for the drive home and then remove the hardtop when I get back to air the softop :?

2 hrs not a problem, it takes a few days before fungus starts to grow,,,,,,,, but if you need it quicker paint on natural yogurt,,,

As mentioned couple of hours won't do any harm - I remember driving down to Dorset to buy mine its exciting, have a great day

I remember the day i collected mine and the major wind noise caused by the front seal, i thought it was going to blow off the car on the way home. Still not completely stopped it no matter how much adjusting i seem to do.

just curious, when you fit a hard top how can you be sure your soft-top is completely dry. I guess if it isn't it will grow mould if the hardtop is on for any length of time.

gotta pic the right day to put it away - ideally after a dry sunny day, or dry breezy day. I find that the soft top drys out quite quickly.

Don’t be obsessive about it. Just don’t pack it obviously wet.
The softop is open to the inside of the car so breathes anyway. Think how damp cars get in Winter inside, so it is never really 100% dry
Ran mine with hardtop on every Winter for a decade and never the slightest issue
