Hardtop - a good investment?

Not a single person has said it looks ugly since i've had the hardtop on.

Everyone said they actually prefer the look of the hardtop, rather than the softop as it looks more aggressive.

Yeah I've had at least one person ask me when did I upgrade the car. When I pointed out that it was the same one with a hardtop fitted they were surprised and commented that it looked much newer and far more expensive than the £6.5k I paid two and a half years ago.

Personally I'm actually not that keen on it as it whistles a bit at certain speeds and, well I bought a convertible for a reason!

I do however take comfort in the fact that my roof motor is protected from water ingress while I suffer through these dark months of tintoppery.

I'm rather enjoying tintoppery tbh :lol: I think it may have overdone the whole top down driving thing and started to get bored of it.

This way, I can have the roof down when I choose to, rather than feel I have to.

So much for the predictions that they are worth £600 tops
 
Bloody hell! :o If anyone has 1,246 fine English pounds that they'd rather swap for a sterling grey hardtop with a stand then feel free to PM me. :rofl:
 
I think did the reverse to most regarding hard top, I bought my Z with one fitted, I do still really like the look with the hard top but I dont miss the hassle of taking it off/putting it back on etc. The roof is much bigger than you think it will be when off the car so decent storage space is a bonus. Plus unless you're he-man, its not a one man job to apply/remove. I got to the stage where I wanted to try living with the soft top and after 9 months decided to sell the hard top to a fellow member. I would defo get another H/T one day but for now I've no regrets.

Investment wise, I sold mine for just short of £600, A fair price considering it needed a respray and the price I paid for the car wasnt inflated due to the roof.

Time of year really decides the value, but its worth whatever people will pay in the end. Great investment in some cases, poor in others.

All down to preference.
