Hard Wiring a Dash Cam

Hi All, I intend to fit a Dash Cam to my E85 2007, 2.5 si.
My preferred route is to hard wire this as it has a parked function, you know if it is knocked then the cam starts up, might not get an image but might do. Does anyone have any experience of best place to take the feed from as I know many cars especially BMW's tend to throw a head fit if they detect something non-original.
As always any help very much appreciated.
Mark.

Hi Mark,

This may help you. it uses an ignition live, but you should also be able to take a permanent live off the interior light too.

Hi, I hard wired my Blackvue Power Magic using 2 piggyback taps, F48 CD for the when the ignition is off (parked) and F28 Cruise Control for when it's on; seems to work fine. You need to drop the glove box down (only 4 or 6 screws I think) to find an earth point behind it.

If you have any empty fuse slots you can also just put a spade connector on and an inline fuse. There are a couple of unpainted bolts you can use for earth around there too.
