Hard top

Hi guys I have just bought myself an 03 plate 2.5 with sat nav and the sound system on it is shockingly good. I got it on a good deal from a local guy and it came with a hardtop.

My question is what are these worth on their own? It seems to be in good condition and just a crack on one of the corners however it has rained today and all seems water tight.

I don't really have the space so thinking I may sell it in the future.

The car itself I may sell on as well after I had some summer fun with it :) the car was a bit if a too good to miss!

Thanks in advance.

Will put pictures up when it's had a good clean.

Prices seem to range from £700-£850 from what I've seen, dependant on quality and colour

Depends on the damage and the colour , also coming out of the season as most are going into hibernation for soft top action.

They're rare enough that you shouldn't need to accept a knock down price just because we're heading into Summer. Hold your ground but be prepared to take less for the damage, unless you repair it...

Really that much!?

Glad I asked before selling as would have given a right bargain.

Might look into fixing it first. Not sure yet.

So far I am loving this car.

This is just one example, but t shows you might be best holding off until the the end of summer/autumn before selling as they're going cheap on ebay right now...

The cheap ones are damaged, all the others are close to £800. Seems a good gauge to the market is £500 with cracks etc or £800 without. That gives you a guide as to whether to bother repairing it or not.

Any body repair/spray shop will repair it.
You'll not sell at this time of year damaged, except a t knock down price, but fix it up, hold until Autumn and depending on colour you'll get £800- £900
Selling points will be if you have the internal lock covers, locking tool and storage bag. Without internal lock covers know £50-£100 off

Depends on colour and damage. I paid £950 for a sapphire back one in mint condition with all the accessories including storage bag and stand.

It really depends on the buyer. I guess on average people won't stick their hands in their pockets for a top over £750-£850.
Tops in mint condition with lock covers are becoming harder to get. There are, however, crazy fools like me who paid £950 for a 'mint' top with stand, cover and locking covers.
Best time to sell it is autumn.

Well it is sounding better than I had thought as I originally thought it was worth about £250 to £300.

It also has the lock covers, storage bag, locking key with bag to keep the bits in. No stand though.

Might see how much the local garage will quote.
