hard top ?

Hi to all, anyone have knowledge on where I could buy a black hardtop for a 2003-04 z? (dealer prices silly!!). Or does anyone perhaps have one they want to sell?. :) cheers.
 
Been covered many many times on this forum do a search, but basically check out the Buy & Sell you may get lucky or failing that keep an eye on Ebay going rate on there seems to be about £1000, condsider getting one the wrong colour if you can get it cheap enough and figure in about £200 for a respray.

it is good to have an option.

Personally I never used my hardtop but some people like to have them on in the winter months, or for extra security. Then have the option to remove them when the weather plays ball.

plus it looks so much nicer compared to having the rag top up.

I really like the look of the Roadster with a hardtop. Plus living in England it can be pretty much guaranteed that you can't have the top down between say October/November and March.

It's definitely on my list of things to get when cash allows, though fat chance of finding a Merlot one second hand! Will have to be a respray for me.
 
Best time to buy. Tops coming off, no storage space, last thing on people's mind right now.

3 on Ebay bidding around £600 to £700 inc. the long time advertised NI one at £725 on 'buy now'.

Guaranteed £900 to £1000 in October
 
Will be putting mine on ebay in October, not worth selling now as prices are well down :cry:

I've got a hard top so I can when I feel like it fit it and drive a 'Coupe' AND when I want a 'Roadster' I remove the hard top and can raise and lower the roof when the weather or 'just me' feel like it. Now if you buy a Coupe you only ever have a Coupe.......

How have people found insurance with the hard top?

A friend has a Z3 with a hard top and he had to pay extra on the insurance, the reasoning apparently being that the Z3 hard tops are prone to being stolen and in doing so, the scum, sorry, the "thieves" damage the bodywork of the car and cause high repair bills (as well as the cost of the roof). Is that the same on the Z4?
 
you wouldn't be able to just lift one off, you'd need to break the windows and use tools.

I'd argue the opposite and the insurance should be less as the car is less likely to be vandalised with a hardtop on as they can't slash the roof.
 
Mine made no difference the policy. Neither increase nor decrease. The insurer just needed to understand it was an OEM product, removable and not a modification.
 
Same here, it just too a bit of time to convince the insurance company that it was an OEM item not a modification. They originally wanted £200 on top of the policy for it.

yep i still have my brand new/used for 2 week one!

Im just being honest that it is NEW, but obviously had to go on the car to transport it and sort storage.

let me know your interested!
