It's not mine and it's the wrong colour for me, but I had this add pop up this morning -

Looks like a good one for a decent price...

If it's not for me, I'd rather a forum member snaps it up instead!

If someone is interested in this but has a sterling grey car... My roadster is silver but my hardtop is sterling grey (currently in a satin black vinyl wrap) so I could be interested in a swap, would save money on a re-spray, I'm in West Yorkshire

IIRC, TerryVision is after a SG hardtop - might be worth a PM

I'm not looking to sell mine but if he buys this one I would swap with him

Anyone know if a well fitted hardtop totally eliminates the problem of water ingress into soft top motor well?
It looks as though it does or ought to.
Thanks.

I've been looking into this. The hard top fits over the soft top channel areas, so water will run off the hard top and down the side of the car rather than into the soft top drainage channels.

I'm after a saphire black top - hadn't considered buying one in another colour and having it wrapped though! This one is still too far away for me.

It does look that way so if the car is outside during the winter then that's one less thing to worry about.
My other concern is the effect that the hood being folded for long periods of time might leave crease marks that are not easy to get rid of. I get them anyway so maybe they are no worse than normal.
Tempted.

Yes, water does run down the outside of the car and not into the roof drains - you still need to make sure the drains are clear though, so water isn't sitting in there all winter. Also, having a hard top won't stop the rusting of the motor over winter due to previous water ingress - I replaced my roof motor 2 years ago, and I clear the drains monthly, and have a hard top fitted every winter.

Regarding roof creases - mine does not have those (although there are wear marks, but that's not due to storage) and its had a hard top fitted over winter for the past 5 years. Just make sure you fully clean and dry the soft top before storing it.

Thank you Mr Markeg, some good sound advice, I would have this if it wasn't quite so far away, even tried visualising the silver top on a Toledo Blue body. Might be OK?

Heres Mine, not toledo but Carbon schwarz Metallic
