LOL thanks for the kind offer Russ but even my lack of taste doesn't extend that far! Paul
How about I have it painted Stirling Grey??
Interested??
Russ

Nah..I like my contrast as it is thanks :)

The other way round would have been bad news (grey atop a silver body) but this way round works fine for me..,..plus since the silver tops always go for the most money on ebay (I've anally been watching prices for two years!) theres a bit of a profit when I finally trade the car in for a Cayman (Plan A!) and sell the top...

No Probs!~
Had a chance to look in the boot for the plastic stopper. Could only find one on each side approx 10mm round. However where it is located I cannot see how this would retain the boot lid from hitting the glass screen.
Anyone got pics of these stoppers??
Cheers
Russ

Here ya go a couple of pics of the stopper. I'm not planning to put the top on till later in the year... Still hopeful for the odd nice day :) (unlike today's rainy fun)

As you can see below the thicker the stopper the less the boot will open.

cue the "ooh you haven't got a stubby?" posts... :fuelfire:

Surely they are all like that or the boot lid would have a wobbly? I don't reckon this 'stopper' thing was ever part of the hardtop prep TBH, but I've been wrong before, or so my wife always tells me....

Mine didn't have the stopper; only had since I bought the Hardtop. :)

And yes I have thought about getting the stubby aerial... but no not got one yet :P

How bizarre. I never heard of stoppers before. They are not mentioned in the retrofit instuctions, mine does not have them and the boot goes nowhere near to the rear glass.

I was sad enough to go check my car too and it has just the plain metal stops on the hinges

I didn't have any problem with the trunk lid rubbing the hardtop window - until one day the right trunk hydraulic strut decided to break and I ended up with some nasty scuff marks on the trunk lid.

I got them with my hardtop. I think they are a bit of a "belt and braces" myself, but without them its quite close on my car(i checked mine with and without), and I guess any incorrect alignment and they could touch

Got the HT yesterday and very pleased with it. In fact the contrast on this is also pretty spot on but will still respray it the original TiAg.
Thanks to Phil (again!) "CJ10Jeeper" for his help with adjustment (this is it prior) and very happy with what is a very differnet car now!
Too think I was considering the Coupe as well when I went to look for the car :D
