Hard top fitting on any Z4?

Hi guys,

I've managed to find a hard top for my Zed and I originally wanted to drive my Zed down to the seller so he could fit and show me how to fit the hardtop on. But he says that he didn't feel happy fitting it on for me because apparently he went to a BMW dealer and they charged him £40 :o to show him how to fit the hardtop on and they 'mould' the hardtop so that there aren't any air gaps - is this true? He said the hardtop fitted his Z4 perfectly and so he wanted me to take it to the dealers to fit it on. But I spoke to another seller of a hardtop and he said 'yeh no problem, I'll fit it on for you and show you how when you come and pick it up'.

I thought that they all just fitted onto all UK standard Z4s? Am I alright right in assuming that all UK Z4 are already prepped for hardtop fitting?

The hardtop is a sub 5 minute operation to fit and being a UK car yours will be fully prepared for it.

Basically drop it on and turn 3 clamps - job done. It automatically disconnects the softtop and connects the rear heater element.

Later there is a simple adjustment procedure that I have instuctions for somewhere that raises or lowers it using the side clamps and makes the seals sit better.

Given I'm so close I'd be happy to sort it for you.
