Never seen this message before. That indicates a total loss of communication between the car and the cabrio top module CTM.
Dead CTM's do I know only after long lasting water ingress.

Is the car outside? Assuming UK based, weather has been foul for a couple of days. You could disconnect it, bring inside & warm it up.
Failing that, more significant investigation needed.
On the bright side, CTM is common across all models of e89, you can pick up a used module for around £200 so not too devastating.
