Happy Zed Owner :o)

Looking at the Zed this afternoon resting in the sun and I thought its still one of the best looking cars on the road today, regardless of cost :)

Yes it's a fabulous looking car hood up and down. I came from a Golf Gti and wanted something more special.

Looks OK with roof down but I'm not not so sure about it with the roof up, especially in the rear threequarter shot. I've always felt the metal roof is two sizes too small for the car! I presume it has to be to fit into the boot. Hood on the E85 being fabric is bigger and gives the car a more balanced appearance.

I think the 3/4 shot is the best view, just very very svelte to my eyes  You don't get that with a Jag or SLK :)

Still not convinced on the roof and back end of the Z4 but agree with you on the SLK - the current one looks as though the back and front ends belong to different cars. As for the Jag........although it's getting pretty old now the XK is still one of the best looking GTs' around - not so keen on the convertible though.

You really do talk out your backside!

Lol at Lux

Shack if you're unhappy with the Zed just sell it and move on its pointless just slagging it off all the while as it will just make you feel more unhappy as an owner and get peoples backs up on here.

I can't say I've been 100% happy with mine but a sunny day with roof down and the perfect looks I can forgive the slight niggles, plus what I paid for it, basically the price of an MX5 I have no cause to complain  It was a bloody bargain :driving:

Tim.

Tim - have already done it and it should be gone early next week.

I didn't have any significant issues with my first E89 which I got in 2009 when they were introduced. It was a 3.0 and I enjoyed the car although perhaps not as much as my old E85.

It was when I changed to the 28i that I became disillusioned, mainly because of the engine noise, numerous rattles and IMO poor build quality - it could well be that I have a bad one but there seem to be plenty of others on the forum with similar experience.

With hindsight I should probably have stuck with the 3.0 and I would not have had to get rid of a year old car at a significant loss!

Sounds like you just got a bad one, you will get that with any car regardless of make :) Compared to other forums I go on the E89 is pretty good all round car, its not perfect but I've had no issues what so ever with build quality, doesn't squeek or rattle, no trim issues etc and I don't see any real issues concerning poor build quality. Theres been the rear light cluster issue, fuel pump, and the 19" wheel issue for which I've suffered non of these problems. The only one I would agree with you on is the new 4 pots especially when cold could run better but once warmed up I find very smooth.

If things do go wrong I'm quite lucky in that I have pretty decent dealer, probably why I have stuck with BMW.

I can sympathise if you do get a bad one and have done the same in the past and got rid at a substantial loss, but then it was a Peugeot

Totally agree with Tim, it is still the best looking roadster out there for the money and the rear quarter shot looks the best. The low roof line gives it the sporty look and looks better than a rag top. Had no issues with mine and with the 15k miles I've done, it's a great everyday car.
