After 5 long months without a working roof because of the usual roof motor fail I eventually found a local independent, i.e. STR Service Centre in Norwich, £553.72 inc vat so can't grumble about that, half the price that BMW wanted! Dropped it off this morning, picked it up this afternoon, great drive home! :D
Non run flats next! Anyone used Cooper CS Sports?

That's not a bad price. Well done.

Cheers, seemed a good price, just a shame the notes had to go on that instead of a new set of tyres, the run flats are going to have to go soon, fed up bouncing all over the road!

Wow! That is a great price from what I have read on here. I also need to sort mine and was not sure who to go to as I want to be sure of a good job. STR are only a hour away instead of 4 hours for Autotech who have great reviews. I assume Mickey you would fully recommend them?

Any other recommendations welcome.

Well I only had it repaired yesterday but yes I would, they were very professional and friendly, there were quite a few top end cars in there, porsches, jags, bm's. It is the first time I have used them but they told me they have done a lot of Z4 roofs, over a dozen in the last year or two, I was the third this year. They have never had one fail yet. They quoted me £560 and charged me £553-seemed very honest and trustworthy. Website www.strservicecentre.co.uk
I dealt with Chris-nice guy. Go for it!

That's excellent.
Can I suggest you post a review under the 'Dealer Feedback' forum so anyone looking for a garage in your area can check it out from the list.

Good idea-done!

Thanks Mickey for the write up. I think I will also give them a go when I have a spare day. Great find and local for me. Did you have to book it in well in advance?

Is it just replacing the motor or do they need to seal around it to stop it happening again? I'm sure I remember reading something about it?

About 10 days, could have been a day or so earlier. And well sealed up, they made sure of that.
