My zed, a tiny car with big engine and bold lines. Manufactured in August 2005. Mine since new. 60k happy miles. Now, at the age of 20, sailed through yet another MOT. With no advisories. Ever. With remarks ”it’s like new”. Again.

Happy Birthday!

Now that is one properly looked-after one-owner Z, a credit to you sir. Mine is 2 years older and on 63K, and I know there are some things that will need sorting once the summer is done.

Your car is a credit to you Mike. I wondered if you ever drive her, but then I read you’ve driven her all of those 60,000 miles, which is more than almost everyone else does. I hope you enjoy many more happy miles together.

Happy Birthday DMike's car! 🎂 🥳 🎉
Our cars are almost twins! Mine was born a few months earlier (Jan-'05) however, they are very similarly equipped right down to the M-sport black seats. Im not the original owner, but she's always been garaged, and just clicked over 20K miles.
BTW, love the M wheels!
Aren't QuickJacks awesome? 😉20250802_221854.jpg

Stunning looking Z4 DMike. I'm not surprised it sailed through another MOT. 👍

My 330i daily was built on 06/09/2005 and is booked for an MOT next week - I've got my fingers crossed! But it is nothing like as pampered as your car as it's now on 128K miles and a cracked rear bumper cover made it a Cat N in 2023.

Thanks everyone!

During the 20 years I’ve had lots of great advice and support from the forum community and hope to be able to share even a fraction back.

Of the 60k miles a significant amount have been roadtrips and similar leasure. The zed was purchased for a special purpose and will definitely be a keeper. Now looking forward to reach 30 years: In Finland cars can then be registered as museum cars, with negligible annual taxes and even cheaper insurance.

I read your link to the special purpose and can see why your car has to be a keeper.

I've met another forum member a couple of times lately who has had his car for 18 years and will never part with it either as it played a part at his wedding among other special occasions.
