Hi everyone, i'm coming to the end of my first year of Zed ownership - what a superb year it's been!
I have a 2004 Sterling Grey 3.0 SE with 85k on the clock, a stubby is the only optional extra on it. Now, i know people love their extras, but for me, the excellent service history was the winner. And i'm chuffed to say it flew through it's MOT yesterday with no advisories. As for extras, i am looking onto the retro fit cruise control, but we'll see.
When i purchased it, there was 78K on the clock, the interior and leather seats are in great condition for a car of its age, and I had the dealer install a new CD changer and speakers (they didn't work). Moving up from an MR2 to a Zed with an automatic roof was great - i actually felt a little bit lazy, lol. The MR2 was like a go-cart with leather seats, the driving experience in the Zed is obviously much more sophisticated, and comfortable on the longer runs. We enjoy the Dales and Peak District... well, anywhere with hills and fabulous scenery really.
I took the Zed to a local indy called BNTec in Hull for it's MOT, only £44. I was quite impressed with their quotes for the inspections too, Insp 1 = £199, Insp = £295, and an Oil Service is £127 (got that booked in next week). I love the roadster, but dare i say - i'm already looking at coupes for the future. I just love the shape of the Zed, roadster or coupe. As long as i have many more years happy driving in the Zed, i guess that's the main thing, lol. Happy birthday Zed!
