Handsfree & Bluetooth Audio Upgrade - Options?

I've had a read around of past threads on this common topic, however I'm still unsure what options are available to me. The bmwvin checker (and my original build sheet) says I have the following audio options on my early e85:

S662 Radio BMW Business CD
S672 CD changer for 6 CDs
S677 HiFi System Professional DSP

What options do I have to play bluetooth (or USB) audio from my Android phone as well as take handsfree calls? Although I would prefer to keep the existing headunit, I'm not against an aftermarket headunit with function over form, if that's going to be the optimum solution.

What have you got zed wise E85, E86?

You could fit the Grom audio bluetooth adapter with the DSP adapter. have you got the sat nav? cd changer? will have to inspect your connections to determine what type of DSP is present. If the vehicle was originally equipped with a CD Changer, this is simple as you will be able to check what connections are connected to your changer. If the vehicle was not equipped with a changer or the vehicle was purchased used (possibly the changer was removed upon selling of vehicle) you will need to locate the factory amplifier and inspect to see if a coaxial wire is present.
I have the usb grom version as no need for Bluetooth or calls and I am very happy with it.

Have added my zed into the opening post. It's an e85, no sat nav but still has the cd changer and amp.

Took the amp out today, and it's a Carver DSP. Is this going to complicate things / make things more costly?

2 phones at the same time and bluetooth your music from your phone . Perfect solution

I've just fitted a grom Bluetooth kit but not bothered routing the mic yet so just use for music. Unfortunately with DSP it needs the pretty expensive adapter.

I was going to go parrot but chose grom in the end.

Do you have DSP and that works with it?

What made you go with Grom over Parrot?

It looked simpler to fit I thought and could all be tucked away in the boot.

Originally i fancied the small screen with the parrot but with my phone in a proper active holder there is no need.
