Handsfree adapter with the standard CD

Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before, I couldn't find much in the search; if there a simple solution to give me handsfree phone operation whilst retaining the standard Professional CD in my Z4. I don't want to stray from the standard head unit, I don't mind fitting bits behind it, but I want it to be able to answer if the stereo is off or its playing a CD (like my 320d does).

I got one of these that plugs in the cig lighter and works through one of the radio pre-set buttons tuned to the frequency the unit operates on. I rarely use it but proved it works when I first had it and fitted it.

I’m in the same boat, there seems to be a lot of aftermarket kits but hard to Find any feedback on them.

I do have a unit similar to what Colin has posted above which is fantastic for Bluetooth music streaming but not so good for calling due to what people have described as engine noise/vibration.

If you do find anything I’ll be interested to know how it goes and I will do the same if I decide on a kit.

My E91 has a bluetooth-enabled BMW head-unit in it, all I had to do was fit a mic and I was able to have hands-free and use the steering wheel controls too. I assumed that there'd be something similar for the Z4, particularly from the face-list versions, but it would appear that no such wizardry exists...
