Handschalter

At least you can be confident that a highly trained BMW technician would be able to exercise self-restraint when in the best car he’s ever driven. He certainly wouldn’t have ragged it when cold and before it was properly run in :P :D

she just stated that a technician took the car out as part of the dealer inspection process and stated that it was the best BMW he'd ever driven.
He was the 17 year old apprentice; only passed his test on Tuesday! :poke: :D

Do try and keep up old boy. :P
She's picking it up tomorrow (Friday). Today's Thursday.

Looks great, awesome colour.

For the speed limiter bong, hold down the SET button on the steering wheel for a few secs, that should turn it off.

Looks superb. As Stuart says that’s a great colour.
Now that is just not true Ian. It's green. :x

I do like the thought of a manual B58 as it is one hell of an engine, but not anywhere should it ever be green.

Green is for 1970s Austin Maxis, or even 202x Lotusi, but not Germanic cars. It's sacrilege.

Looks like the car in the picture was driven into a stagnant pond (!), then hauled out and left to dry.

Anyway (in true forum fashion)......OP I love it and think it looks brill!

Yep!
We all have our own preferences, and luckily we live in a Country where can have them, if we can afford them.
Green cars are still horrible, though.

Although if I were to purchase a Lotus Emira; it would be green because it's just 'right'. I know.....fickle aren't I? :D

Um, new reply to an old thread. Am trading my M40i auto in on a Handschalter. Portimao Blue, Cognac, 19s/20s. Have been tracking its progress through the factory in Graz on the app. Pretty cool. Also tracking it from Bremerhaven across the Atlantic on marinetraffic.com. Very cool. At this writing it is "in transit" from Baltimore to KC. Am ready to do some handschalting.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum CarGuy.

Maybe you should start a thread in the Newbies section and post some photos of your Z4 when it has arrived.

Hello and welcome @CarGuy, nice colour combination, you will absolutely not be disappointed with it, I just hope you live in one of those states with hills with twisting roads and not Florida :giggle:

Ideally one of those States that doesn't require a front licence plate either!

Thank you all for your gracious welcomes. I will get to the Newbies section next. Have been handschalting away and liking it but 4,000 rpm is not fully satisfying. Am anxious to get the 1,200 mile break-in so I can let that B58 sing. My state is not known for twisties but there are some. I've taken my sports cars cross country in search of scenery so that may be on the menu. Three digit speeds for miles in the desert is hard on the finish and glass but these cars are to be driven, yes? No, no front license plate required to spoil the look. Oh yes, rowing the gears has had no effect on my vision so far.
Congratulations and welcome to the forum CarGuy.

My Mum said it will make you go blind. ;)
