Handschalter

It's here! And it's luvverly. The box doesn't feel "rubbery" at all to me. It's a chunky gear change short and positive imo. It suits the car absolutely perfectly. And comfort mode is now comfortable! With the torque everywhere of the B58 I think it just suits a manual. I never liked the constant changing of gears all the time on the auto especially in sport mode with too many revs most of the time. For me it's the perfect GT. It'll do everything and put a smile on your face every time. I just wish everyone would stop comparing the Z4 to the Boxster. It really is a different class of car in more ways than one :)

That's a lovely colour combination, and it's good to know you are really pleased with the handschalter!

Mazel tov! Looks great!

How you finding the nanny state stuff? You figured out how to quickly turn off what you need?

I really did think about the manual car, but as much as I love the idea of it, the reality of London driving ruined that for me. :(
Maybe one day….;)

Enjoy the new ride and it looks stunning.

Thanks all. I got our lovely salesman, Anthony to show me how to turn off the lane assist with that button. Tbh I don't mind the speed limit bong as I once had a Holden years ago and they've had that for ever. The lane assist off really does appear to be off and the emergency brake is just turned down so its fine on the road. It's really not a thing really imo but YMMV.

Sars, you will love yours I'm sure.

Ori, your right would be tiresome I the city, although you could just stick it second and leave it there tbh.

I am sure you should be able to switch off the speed limit gong as its not a legal requirement in the UK (Yet).

Glad you happy with the manual, personally far too much effort when you have a perfectly good auto for cruising and can switch to sport with the paddle shift when the wife is not in the car. Horses for courses though. Enjoy.

I had the auto before but this masterpiece of an engine really shines with the manual. YMMV.

I can imagine it does.

Bimmercode might work to turn off by default the nanny state stuff.

Been a while good to hear from you. :) The perfect modern Z4 does indeed exist. 8) :driving:

Looks superb. As Stuart says that’s a great colour.
Now that is just not true Ian. It's green. :x

I do like the thought of a manual B58 as it is one hell of an engine, but not anywhere should it ever be green.

Green is for 1970s Austin Maxis, or even 202x Lotusi, but not Germanic cars. It's sacrilege.

Looks like the car in the picture was driven into a stagnant pond (!), then hauled out and left to dry.

Anyway (in true forum fashion)......OP I love it and think it looks brill!

Just spoken to the dealer as I'm picking the car up tomorrow afternoon, she just stated that a technician took the car out as part of the dealer inspection process and stated that it was the best BMW he'd ever driven.

Do I take it from your observations that you are personally not too keen on the colour?

:) Funnily enough there is a yellow ping to it in the sun just like slimy blanket weed. I love it.

Obviously the most discerning technician ever! I can't wait to hear what you think of it.
