Hands free speaker/ not very clear

Hi guys and gals does anybody else have this problem. When ever i use the handsfree people complain about the audible clarity! Is there anyway to improve this?

Its the built in handsfree with the microphone ontop
of the steering wheel. I dont really want to add another handsfree kit ontop of the OEM one.

Is there a chance my microphone is damaged and can this be replace?

Mine's been crap from the moment I bought it with 9k on the clock. It seems to pick up too much road/cabin noise.

I started using my TomTom's handsfree, but that was almost as bad as it was positioned too far away to pick up my voice.

The best quality I got was from an in-ear bluetooth one, but it meant I either put it in/out all the time or listened to the stereo with one ear bunged up,.

So I gave in and switched to a Jabra Freeway HD (was on offer for £40 when I bought it last year) which sits on my sun visor - and also has the added benefit of being able to stream my phone's music to the stereo using an FM frequency.

It's the nature of the best to some extent. While there is some variation in noise cancellation technology, the distance from your mouth has a lot to do with how much noise is picked up. There's a reason aircraft headsets work best with the mic right on your lips.

It's a completely separate system that has its own speaker/microphone.

You can set it so that it outputs the audio through the stereo instead via a free FM frequency and also output music from the phone through the same frequency.

It connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and you can control the phone's music via the Jabra's voice control.

I understand where you are coming from but the wifes microphone is on the rear view mirrow and was the same on the 1 series which worked perfectly fine, so the location on the steering wheel seems ideal but is absolutely shocking
