Handling when driving on angled surface

When I drive on poor roads where some surfaces are angled the car turns slightly in the angled direction. It makes it nervous. Is this a known problem and is there a solution.

Another topic is that 1 and 2 gear are kind of hard shifts. Is that normal?

Does your car have runflats on? They are notorious for causing "tramlining". Get them off and replaced if so

How do you mean hard shifts? I'm assuming your car is an auto?

I have Michelin pilot sport 4 on the car. Will check if they are run flat type.

The car has a manual and shift are very firm for first and second gear.

I got plates on the car for the first time recently

1st to 2nd shifting can be tricky and not smooth. A CDV delete can help with that and a clutch stop.

Regarding your handling , check your tyre pressures as well

Thanks guys 👍 Will check the tires thoroughly 🤗

CDV delete? Is that a removal of the clutch delay valve? I am Danish so don't know all expressions

Tyres are likely the cause of the issues you have experienced

CDV is the clutch delay valve and to "delete" it is removing it, mine is auto but I am aware the the CDV does cause some issues in terms of the gear changes and how they feel though its likely subjective. Probably a CDV delete is the way forward there as well, though I am not the best placed to answer that one

I have a horrible 1st to 2nd change on my 3.0 e85 when I first got it ...I removed the delay valve and changed gearbox oil to Red Line MTL 75W80 GL-4 Manual Transmission Gear Oil.
Made a big difference

For the handling issue check tyres and if they are runflats change them and have the wheel alignment checked maybe ? I have learnt with these cars you are 'more intouch ' with the road surface than softer suspension cars :D

The 1st to 2nd change is quite challenging until you are used to it. CDV delete definitely changes the feel of the engagement. I haven’t tried changing the gearbox oil, but many members on higher mileages swear that this is transformational. The thing that works for me is changing at rather higher revs than in other cars, c.3k works for me.

Been checking up on tires

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are not directional, they are not run-flat.
Size are 255/35R18 and 225/40R18, both are within specs.
I checked tire pressure with a better meter and pressure was 3psi to high back and 3psi to high front. That might be it, will test :D If not I will have it measured up at the garage.

GEAR
I changed gear oil last week, it didn't change much. I also noticed that changing gear at higher revs makes the shift better.
Will ask garage for price for CDV delete.

The car have only done 100.000km /62.000miles

Beside that, love the engine. It is so smooth down low and so angry when it get revs :D

The CDV delete is no more than a 20 minute job, so will not cost alot.
Think i was charge £ 25.-- if i remember right

Mine also tends to tramline and wander on uneven surfaces. After reading about it and getting advice from other forum members, I'm going to try some Z4M spec offset lolypop bushes, like this:

or

Excellent 👍 Very interested to hear if they make a difference!
I mostly use the car on smaller fun roads and they are often pretty bad... so 🤗

I just had a spin in Z4 after adjusting front tire pressure down to 33psi (was 36psi) and it is way better, only a bit tramlining left. Will take it down to 31psi to test again

I used to use eccentric rear lollipops on E30's and it made a noticeable difference- more stable and keener turn in to corners!

Keep meaning to do it to a Z
