Handles behind seats?

Hi,
One chrome handle each side. Can’t find a ref to it in the manual.
What are their purpose?

Also, below each is a rectangular metal ring/eyelet set into the upholstery?

Thx

G

definitely not handles, some sort of luggage strap points? Never had any need to use them!

realoem says they're a "retaining clip" and a "Fastening loop cap"... whatever those are for!

Considering the limited room behind the seats, I wonder that anything would be big enough to require a luggage strap!
Unless the driver is a Hobbit!
Many thx for the link, I've not come across that yet, that's a bookmark for my collection.

It’s so you can strap down envelopes on your way to the post office :P

Anything to do with the ski hatch?
Perhaps to stop the skis shooting forward in the bag, or is the bag short enough to stop that.

Thx Guys,
Very interesting. I'd never have thought it necessary to include tie points for luggage straps behind the seats where :
A) There's hardly any room for luggage behind the seats other than technical drawings....Ha Ha Rob!
B). The seats themselves would almost serve the same purpose.

I think, reading the blurb in the screenshot, these are designed to secure luggage in the boot against the bulkhead. The straps would go from the top lashing points into the boot, behind the headrests under the parcel shelf (by accessing the boot using the comfort loading option) then would come out through the ski hatch and be attached to the lower lower lashing points. This would secure large loads as far forward as possible as suggested in the handbook.
