Handbrake, I ignored what would have been a clue a problem was occurring. Handbrake would release as pulled up even after the final lift. Did for a few years. The truth emerged after there was a grinding noise coming from near side rear wheel. Took to local garage I have used for years. They stripped back the wheel to reveal the issue there was a small grub screw which had deteriorated and fell within the brake. Two new brakes on the back resolved this problem
