Handbrake shoe adjustment stuck

Hey guys just had new rotors and pads done all round yesterday. All has been swell until I had some proper screeching from the rear left at low speeds.

Isolated to the handbrake shoe so did the adjustment procedure. Very easy and much improved. Basically gone except for a very faint rubbing sound heard sometimes at low speed.

No worries just back it off one more click right?

Nope. Tried for a silly amount of time through the lug hole and no joy. I may have even tightened it the other way some more trying to get it moving in any direction!!

Any suggestions? Will some wd40 on it help loosen it?

It is quite faint I'm thinking it may just wear down on its on in a few hundred KMs?

Prefer not disassembling the caliper/rotors just to do this would-be 5 minute adjustment Classic car guy life.

Well I had a look again this morning and figured out why it's stuck. It's at the maximum adjustment for inward dur

Suppose there's nothing more to do here! Will just drive it around a bit.

Its a while since I changed the brake rotors on mine and I can't remember how the shoes are fitted (other than adjusting them via the wheel bolt hole!) but ....... they may be just a little off centre on the pins so have you tried - reversing slowly and using the hand brake to stop the car then doing the same forward.? This might just pull/jolt the shoes into the right position then you can adjust the resting position again.

Thanks for the suggestion Harry. I've gently pulled the handbrake while on the move and it has alleviated the rubbing mostly for now.

My only future concern is why maximum inward on that side is still quite close (enough to slightly rub).

Hoping it's a non issue and something I'll investigate later when I decide to get the calipers off to paint.
