Handbrake occasionaly slipping

Have seen a few post on here regarding this issue.

Symptoms: Occasionally, when pulling up the handbrake it would jump all the way up to the end of it travel without engaging the rear shoes...almost like the cable had snapped. After a bit of investigation, looks like it was due to a slightly sticky cable/mechanism. The cable should travel back under spring tension to its disengaged position when the hand brake is released. If it sticks slightly the stop mechanism on the spring under hand brake gator can engage slightly which results in slippage of cable. This stop mechanism is used for setting the adjusters on the shoes so that the system is released of any tension before adjusting.

Solution: Stripped rear shoe assembly both sides, lubricated everything, cleaned shoes and reassembled. Engaged the stop mechanism on spring under handbrake gator (tricky) and set rear adjusters so that the discs stopped turning then clicked back 5 turns. Finally disengaged stop on end of yellow spring (much easier than getting it to engage) and it now operates correctly.
