Went to the 3.0 Sdrive to head off to work this morning. Dead as a Dodo. Yellow ramp service light and yellow brake warning lights on dash. Nothing from the starter motor when the button was pushed.
Great ......
Got out Protool and it threw up about three thousand codes including multiple DME, CAS and just about everything else.
So began the fault finding ..... battery voltage ok, unplugged the Intelligent battery sensor, checked fuses etc. All the usual stuff.
Still dead.
I'll cut a very long story short to save your sanity.
Dismantled the boot lining and found the inevitable water under the battery and around the roof CTM module and the handbrake module. It's been VERY wet in Scotland the last few days. The handbrake module was sat in about 2 cms of the wet stuff. Managed to get it unplugged (not easy) and sprayed the pins and the connector with contact cleaner and dried it out.
Reconnected and, hey presto, the car came back to life.
Rescanned and cleared the faults and none have come back. The water was clearly causing a short and locking everything else out.
At least I now know the plan for the weekend. Hours of finding where the water is getting in because, sure as night follows day, it's going to keep raining in good old Scotland.
