Handbrake lever through the roof :(

Parked my car up on the drive the other week, *click, click* *SNAP!!!!* tamping fuming raging tamping as the lever is pointing 90 degree's upwards

Not the only issue, took car to an indy since a service was due, oil leak around the sump area so they're hazarding a guess sump gasket is gone.

I'm looking at a lot of money here to get the above issues fixed aren't I? Since there's the underside to take off, exhaust etc.

Not good to get 2 things like this go at the same time

Although engine cover and if required exhaust can be off in minutes, both inconvenient and somewhat difficult tasks unless up on a ramp, so guess you're right in that you're looking at a fair sized bill when you add labour, parts and a few litres of oil :thumbsdown:

Replaced my handbrake cable in my dad's garage. You need to drop the exhaust system and Heatshield, aswell as a brace bar underneath.

Took about 4 hours including many tea breaks and reading online guides.

You may get lucky and find out the cable has slipped off from the handbrake mechanism underneath the lever.

Either way, it's not the end of the world.

Unfortunately I'm not a handy person, luckily in some ways my brother works for the indy I took it and someone I trust when leaving cars with so mayyyyybe some discount can be had, but either way, its going be a one job a month thing, I don't make that much money xD
