Handbrake issue

MOT time next month and think it will fail on this issue... When the handbrake is applied, the car tends to roll back as if the handbrake isn't on properly. Take the hand brake off and put it back on again it works fine? No roll what so ever. But disconcerting especially when parking on a hill.

Anyone had this before?

Ryan.

You need to rebed the shoes in by driving slowly with the handbrake pulled up fairly firmly for 100m or so. You're just cleaning them and the hubs up,

Once all cooled readjust them through a removed wheel bolt (easier if remove the wheels one at a time)

That will sort it, assuming the shoes aren't worn out, which they should not be under normal conditions.

Not that I know of for the adjustment, but simple enough if a bit fiddly working through a bolt hole.

It'll be in the TIS if you search out the online version, or someone points you to it.

If your trying to see the adjusters through a bolt hole..
nearside 2 o'clock - offside 10 o'clock.
