Handbrake height

after having those brakes fitted etc, the handbrake handle heights a bit on the high side... holding fine etc just too high.

is this just a matter of removing the surround and pushing back the wee spring/catch with a screwdriver with the handle down

I would think it needs adjusting,when my spring/catch needed pushing back the handbrake was really slack no tension at all
if yours is just high adjustment is probably the answer .

You need to adjust the shoes inside the brake hub first. Do that though one wheel stud, or easier by removing the rear wheels for better access.

Once the shoes are adjusted only then consider cable adjustment at the handbrake lever end.

Yeah see that now thanks for pointing him in right direction,I am not great at explaining things as i am no mechanic.
I had to move the spring across because there was no tension at all.didnt want the op to do this until he had tried
what you correctly explained.
